About us

Family-owned in Yemassee since 1986. Chris and Yuri Baker run the nursery today.

John Baker, a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant in the landscape trade on Fripp Island, saw the need for a nursery to serve Hilton Head and Beaufort. He and his wife Margean started growing on five acres in 1986. In 1995 the operation expanded by eight acres. Gary and Charline Baker studied horticulture in Beaufort and purchased the nursery in 1998.

Gary and Charline passed the torch to Chris and Yuri Baker — the third generation. Yuri has worked alongside the family in the fields for the past ten years.

What we grow

Plants suited to Lowcountry and coastal yards: ground cover and perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs and small trees, and annual color. About 4 acres are in production. See the plant guide. Landscaper pricing is on Landscapers.

Healthy plants — final sales

Every plant we sell is healthy when it leaves the nursery. All sales are final after pickup or delivery: non-returnable, no warranty for planting, weather, watering, deer, or other wildlife. Deer notes: deer resistant.
